lessons learned from this resignation.

WALANG USOK AT POLUSYON 9. Respect begets respect 10. Maluwag sa dibdib kapag merong graceful exit At madami pang iba. Pahabol: mahirap maka-ispot ng poging lalake sa bus kung more than half of the ride e tumutulo laway mo. :-P Published with

CONFESSIONS OF A SUCCESSFUL BUM

Nothing can be more depressing than sitting on the couch in front of the television, while waiting for the latest showbiz chika from Tita Cristy. I call this moment “the 30-minute coma” – a condition which allows your brain to go dead, blank, moribund or be completely anaesthetized (no Novocain needed) but only for half an hour. From Monday to Friday, I sit there, in the exact spot where I sat the day before and imitate the dead. Nothing can be more profound than this, I say. This beats slaving in the office, wearing three-inch heels from eight to five, I say. Watching Rosanna Roces badmouthing Aiko Melendez is definitely more exciting than listening to your boss spewing invectives at you, I say. But when the last of them artistas say their goodbyes, and the credits flash before the screen, I snap back to life. And what a life, it is. The day I left the province for the City of Man(ila), I promised to myself that I would go back home with success written all over me. Now I am

muchacha diaries: June 8, 2012

Eenamorata/ muchacha, went to town yesterday and chaperoned a few friends around the hometown today. After seeing a lovely performance of the hymns "how great though art" and "amazing grace" on the angkling from a lovely old lady (who was able to perform in front of a pope and is the wife of a former UN official), the muchacha went to Alabang to have dinner with some of her friends from work yesterday. She endured a 2-hour journey, to spend 2-hours of dinner and a little chitchat with them and went back home to LB on an hour and a half bus ride to finish some sideline work that she was doing and prepare for the other commitment that she had in the morning. It is impractical, but the time spent on investing with relationships was worth it. ---- Unlike her other mornings, this one started a bit earlier because she chaperoned two expats and a bunch of college students in a tour around campus. They were supposed to hike up to the National Art's Cente

Until such time that I am muchacha no more, these silly things will be the subject of my writings for the mean time.  I've been the official shopper, dog walker, pet sitter, dish washer and slob of our mansion. Its a fact that I am missing the undomesticated life that I left behind for this one. Pero for sure naman (or its a dapat) this is just temporary, and I am enjoying every bit of it, because this rest period will not come again just like that, and I've experienced what it is like to have little or no rest at all. A regular activity these days (which I truly enjoy) is pet sitting. Gave the boys and the girl a refreshing bath yesterday, took some photos and had myself captivated by their alluring charms;mababaw lang ang kaligayahan ko at isa na ito sa kanila.   nameless puppy (up for adoption) Breed: ASKAL Age: three months bigger version of the puppy ASKAL.. its the girl dog that gave birth to them Puppy ASKAL (also up for adoption) apparently havi

how to make wicked peanut butter jelly sandwiches

Image
STEP 1: toast a pair of sliced bread. use your trusty kawali (frying pan) if you don't have an oven toaster STEP 2: spread a generous amount of peanut butter on one bread STEP 3: spread a generous amount of jelly (this one is strawberry jam) on the other one STEP 4: put the "spread" side of the two breads together and viola! you have a PBJ sandwich it is best enjoyed with a glass of milk... ... and portions of mixed fruits... ... or  your simple banana would do too

DORK, PROFESSIONAL DOG WALKER/ PET SITTER & DISHWASHER EXTRAORDINAIRE

Image
Left my engineering job to be an official dork, professional dog walker/ pet sitter and dishwasher extraordinaire. My first day was today and it went ok naman: Fed the dogs, exercised, ate a lot of fruits, got my nails done, bumped into a friend, went to the market to buy dog food, went home, fed my dogs and walked them around the neighborhood. An official  dork  because I'm back into books (text books) and its quite nice that I find it really enjoyable to do so. I now have more perspective and imagination with regards to technical writings such as this one.  Am also trying to do a schedule for the lag time that I am currently in now; I'm finding it hard to live life without checklists and schedules I don't like the feeling of being unproductive. So, doing the list and schedules to make productive use out of my time. Professional dog walker/ pet sitter . I am unselfishly giving myself at the expense of these creatures because they need a lot of attentio
