muchacha diaries: June 8, 2012

Eenamorata/ muchacha, went to town yesterday and chaperoned a few friends around the hometown today.

After seeing a lovely performance of the hymns "how great though art" and "amazing grace" on the angkling from a lovely old lady (who was able to perform in front of a pope and is the wife of a former UN official), the muchacha went to Alabang to have dinner with some of her friends from work yesterday.

She endured a 2-hour journey, to spend 2-hours of dinner and a little chitchat with them and went back home to LB on an hour and a half bus ride to finish some sideline work that she was doing and prepare for the other commitment that she had in the morning. It is impractical, but the time spent on investing with relationships was worth it.

----

Unlike her other mornings, this one started a bit earlier because she chaperoned two expats and a bunch of college students in a tour around campus. They were supposed to hike up to the National Art's Center, but was not allowed by the security because classes in PHSA were apparently on-going and they do not want noisy people to be around the area. So instead, they climbed a few hills here and there... aimlessly at the beginning, but decided to go back down the mountain and enjoy wide green fields and lush trees for breakfast.

Time passed, they had lunch and went to the IRRI (International Rice Research Institute) to visit the Rice World museum.

The muchacha usually never fails to bring her guests here, because it is one of those places in Los Banos where she knows that she will not get embarrassed with ever. It was kind of her usual and she was there for like a hundred times already. So, it was a pleasant surprise, when she discovered that they re-vamped their displays to be more interactive and high tech. She was truly amazed and it is a given fact that the place never fails to amaze her.

interactive displays about the technical information on rice

(L-R clockwise: modern rice processing tools, rice food products,
rice beauty products, and a common asian rice meal table)

(L-R clockwise: different rice boyfriends este costumes, rice containers,
THE large iron vat (like the ones witches use), people she chaperoned for at the entrance)

For everyone (LB citizens and not), the muchacha suggests that they visit the Riceworld museum to get educated about our staple food and, see their beautiful and creative displays of the geeky stuff scientists tell about rice. Its gonna be loads of fun; especially when they ride the trolley afterwards.

This is already her second time to ride these flying couches, and she can never seem to get over the scaredy feeling whenever the flying couch passes the wooden bridge.

-----
*yawns* It has been a long day for the muchacha, and albeit the fact that she is apparently enjoying this restful time (aka UNEMPLOYMENT), she is a bit worried that it might become too long or something... And she does not want that. So, do pray for her, and some of her friends too that they be able to start on their new jobs soon. The piggy bank is already getting lighter and lighter as the days progresses. Pray for a fatter piggy and funner adventures too.
