May 16 2011 first day of work in this crazy industry called construction




I am thankful that I got into this profession and that I got into this company exactly a year ago. It has been an enriching experience; there might be heartaches and heartbreaks on the side... But the happy things exceed all of it. 

I've gained a lot of new friends, experienced a lot of new things, gained a lot of new insights, gained weight and I've been very happy in general. This year was an adventure that I'm glad I didn't miss.

So, I am finally making it official... I'm back at UPLB for a one year contract. It still feels dreadful (minsan lang), especially during moments when I am alone and when I have no one to talk to (which is palagi these days), kasi my plans did not materialize and because I am still beating myself up for the decisions that lead me to this situation. Pero its not dreadful naman talaga, its just that I still have some personal and spiritual (if you know what i mean) issues to settle with and I am still getting used to the niceness of living and working at UPLB. I did realize, however, that I have missed out on a lot of things when I got in the 7-4 Monday to Saturday work format. Now that work allows more flexibility with regards to spending time and all that, I will be doing more of the following: sleep write read cook ride a tren to Bicol (be cool in Bicol) ride the bus to Bohol go back to Mindanao hang out on coffee shops walk my dogs take care of my self cultivate ...

DAY30: a very happy girl today

Finally! I thank God for the awesome year that He has given me, it was definitely worth the wait of the 30-day countdown. If some of you were wondering why I'm doing all this DAY-ish something posts, its because I'm doing a countdown for my birthday, just to get me excited and for the conceited purposes of announcing it. Happy girl, am a very happy girl today.  Woke up early and had a tapa breakfast and brewed coffee with my roommate, went to work did some useless cramming on our documents and got surprised when one of my electricians came in the office with a big cake. My electrical team gave me a cake! I am deeply touched by the gesture. See they are workers; I understand that it is very unpractical for them to buy such a thing, and them buying it was very very touching.  Two things I realized from this cake.   1. DAY13: Labor day; DAY12: long and lonely bus rides; DAY11: the Boho/ Forest-ish wedding; DAY10: my college homies

was suffering from bad internet connection and power outages lately... DAY13: Labor Day Thankful for the holiday that was yesterday where I was able to celebrate my second year of being officially a part of the labor force. I also got the chance to sleep-in, do the domestic chores that I like and prepare a little bit for the upcoming transition period. DAY12: Long and lonely bus rides I use these times for thinking, and the long bus ride for this day made me realize that I am not very fond of kids. Two moms with a kid each, that looks like he/she was gonna throw up anytime soon, sat beside me; though the bus was comfortable and air- conditioned, I wasn't able to relax until they got of the bus. I was very wary of the vomit that each child might bring me.  Not that I do not want to have kids in the future, I might not be ready lang for it yet.
